The Year 10 course is the first part of the two year GCSE course. It covers the following topics:
- What are Chemical Substances?
- Metals
- Acids and Alkalis
- Solubility and Salts (Separate Science students only)
- Atmosphere and Pollution
Additionally, 20% of the GCSE is based on coursework. One investigation and, optionally, other pieces of coursework will be carried out during the year.
Each pupil has been issued with a copy of Key Science - Chemistry, by Eileen Ramsden.
Tests take place every half term and all topics are examined towards the end of Year 10.
