The Year 8 course builds on the Chemistry learnt during Year 7 Science and continues to lay foundations for the forthcoming GCSE course. Pupils are taught in tutor groups and have one double period a week. Lessons are largely practical based, with experiments or demonstrations being carried out whenever possible. Learning by making observations and carrying out short investigations is very much encouraged. Each pupil has been issued with a copy of Chemistry Now! 11-14, by Peter D.
