Revision
for GCSE Physical Education Candidates for 2004 From
the 1st March you have 12 weeks until your PE Exam Candidates should recognise
that there is a whole range of factors that can affect performance, and that
these factors can influence the quality of performance independently
of
each other, in combination with each other or in
opposition to each other. The subject content has been
divided into four sections. Each section identifies the selection of factors which candidates
following a course based on this specification will be expected to know. Section
A • Health, Fitness and the Factors affecting
Performance This section includes the
following aspects: Health and fitness; Physical Activity; Diet; Fitness for
Physical Activities. Section
B • Principles
of Training This section includes the
following aspects: Fitness Training; Physiological Factors; Psychological
Factors and the Acquisition of Skill; Technological Developments; Safety and
Risk Assessment. Section
C • Factors
Affecting Individual Performance and Participation This section includes the
following aspects: School; Changing Attitudes; Social Groupings; Leisure
Time; Facilities Available. Section
D • Social and Cultural factors Affecting
Participation This section includes the
following aspects: Sponsorship; Media; Social and cultural aspects;
