The ICT Department's Aims

The aims of the ICT Department are to:

• Develop skills. ICT is an amazingly powerful and flexible tool which assists students and teachers to work more productively. It is a tool rather than an end in itself. To this end, ICT is taught as a multi-purpose skill.
• Teach for the ECDL. All pupils and staff should have the opportunity to achieve a formal ICT qualification. We offer the ECDL as our vehicle for training.
• Promote the use of ICT in departments, for teaching and reducing teachers' workload.
• Advise and assist with departmental ICT Teaching throughout the College.
• Help students to improve their learning by helping them to make effective use of ICT.
