- OCR Advancing Physics has evolved from Nuffield Physics and adopts the same 'hands on' approach. However, the course content and resources are bang up-to-date: astronomy, quantum physics, electronics and communication technology all feature prominently and all students can be provided with a CD-ROM in addition to a textbook.
- Students are taught through a mixture of traditional teaching, practical investigation, structured practical work and computer simulation.
- Assessment involves three coursework components and two written papers.
- The modules are entitled "Physics in Action" and "Understanding Processes".
